Need Help Finding A Cave For My Cories

FishWithTim

  • #1
So I just can't seem to detect a cavern for my cories to chill in. They try hiding under this huge ornamentation I have in the eye of the tank but constantly get pushed out by my pleco or sometimes push him out lol, but the pleco unremarkably dominates the area. And so I desire to become them a space of there own. At present it can either exist a cave or a few white rocks I can forge into a cave. Preferebly on amazon prime.

I accept this one. Comes in a couple unlike sizes. The large is really very big (nearly 12").

Terracotta pots are another choice. Or you could get a couple of the smaller rock caves shown in post #half dozen then get a piece of slate and lean it up against to create a cave underneath.

Hither's some other:

I used a drinking glass jar for my big corys. I know information technology's not a 'cave', but they seem to like it! For my baby corys, I used the smallest terra cotta pot I could observe, and they seem to dear them.

WTFish?

Nosotros are covered in it here in northern Az, yous can use other rocks, but do a vinegar exam, don't use if it bubbles, and then clean well. I'yard sure there'due south a list of rocks Not to use just I'm non certain about those. I'm all for DIY instead of paying high prices for unnatural items

I'm kind of leaning towards diy merely considering lilliputian caves are like xx bucks and like you lot said unnatural. I'1000 thinking of getting a really broad fat slice of pvc pipe and cutting information technology in half making an curvation shape. My gramps has a bunch of pvc backside his shed and they've been sitting back there for idk even how long, would information technology be safe to use?

I'm kind of leaning towards diy but because little caves are like 20 bucks and similar you said unnatural. I'k thinking of getting a actually wide fat slice of pvc piping and cut it in half making an arch shape. My grandpa has a bunch of pvc behind his shed and they've been sitting back at that place for idk even how long, would it be safety to use?
I'chiliad sure it'due south fine, I'd wash in really hot water, maybe even soak in vinegar awhile. You can always tie moss on it too.

Just plain old pvc, right? I'm sure the merely danger would be dirt, just clean well.
Just plain sometime pvc, correct? I'chiliad sure the only danger would be dirt, just clean well.

See if there is a landscape supplier in your area, they volition sell you a bunch of rocks typically adequately cheaply. You can then make all kinds of cool caves for them.

My stepdad had a huge wide slice of pvc pipe and he cut a piece off and cut it in half. Here information technology is. It'south unbelievable that something like this would cost 10+ dollars at a shop simply got information technology for free. It's 6 inches long and you see how wide information technology is.
